For more than half a century, Hobert Pools & Spas has been a trusted Dallas pool builder known for honesty, integrity, and superior craftsmanship. Founded by Hobert Murphree in 1975, our company was built on one guiding belief: “I’m only as good as the last pool I built.”
That simple principle has led to the construction of over 20,000 custom swimming pools throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, making Hobert Pools & Spas one of the most respected names in custom pool design and construction in North Texas.
Our Story
Hobert’s passion for pool building began early. Originally from Arkansas, he started in 1953 tying steel for a California company called Anthony Brothers, learning the art of pool construction from some of the most experienced engineers in the industry. After years of mastering his craft, Hobert moved to Texas to become Vice President of Travis Pools, which grew into the largest pool company in the Southwest before its sale in 1973.
In 1975, Hobert launched Hobert Pools & Spas in Dallas, Texas. What began as a small operation on Harry Hines Boulevard quickly grew thanks to his commitment to quality work, exceptional service, and doing what’s right for the customer — even when it cost more than planned. As the Dallas area expanded, so did Hobert Pools, with offices now in Rockwall and Murphy, proudly serving communities across Dallas, Fort Worth, Prosper, Celina, and Sulphur Springs.
